Founders

Growing up in multicultural and multilingual households, Gabriel and Lorraine Saintus have long understood the value and beauty of the vast world of language. In 2017, the two set out to create an Academy that would allow them to share their love of language all around the world.

 

Gabriel Saintus, Jr., a native French speaker from Quebec, Canada, has over 20 years of experience in education and the teaching of world languages. He has taught in public and private schools, as well as college courses. Lorraine is a former executive and consultant with over18 years experience in healthcare. She has served as a System Chief Experience Officer (CXO), and as an Associate Vice President of Process Improvement. She also has managed various Hospital Customer Operations, including Language and Cultural Support Services. In that role, she worked to provide resources and tools that allowed patients and physicians to communicate beyond language barriers. 

 

Gabriel received his B.S. from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University in Chicago, IL, and an MS in Education from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Lorraine received a B.S. from Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL and a MSPH in Health Services Administration from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. 

 

Gabriel’s parents hail from Martinique (a French island) and Haiti. Lorraine is a first generation American with Indian and Black Jamaican parents

 

The Saintus’s children each grew up learning multiple languages almost from birth. When their first child was born, Gabriel spoke almost exclusively French to him. By the time he was two years old, he managed to ask the same question in both French and English. He is now bilingual, speaking English and French freely, all while learning Spanish, Polish, and Mandarin. His younger brother is following in the family tradition, learning French, Spanish, and Mandarin himself!

 

Gabriel and Lorraine are both Christian Seventh-day Adventists who are committed to sharing and spreading God’s love around the world. Their mission is to enable individuals to be multilingual and allow them to spread the Gospel throughout the world, all while enabling students to become productive members of society.  

 

In 2017, Excellerate Learning Academy was founded with the goal of giving the gift of language to other families and communities around the world. In 2020, the Academy expanded their offerings to include virtual classes, greatly increasing the reach and convenience of their services. Needless to say, Excellerate Learning Academy is a family-oriented, family-owned business with a passion for languages that runs deep.
